A clearly knowledgeable and educated man. The presentation however, partisan; replete with double standard, hypocrisy and projection. 40 mins of waffling could have be broken down with a brief explanation on the usage of opacity in historical and social analysis. Descriptors of social tensions under the Islamic Republic framed as being uniquely Iranian.. much of what is levelled as signs of the fragility of the Iranian State is easily replicated around the globe, Western Social democracy included - suppression of youth dissatisfaction, extraction of wealth, crisis of political legitimacy, increased authoritarianism, disconnect of elites from the general populace... all from someone claiming to speak for an entire country; whom by manner, appearance and cursory inspection seems to have spent no real time in... The assertion of Bid'ah, wielded like some Salafist Da'wah was particularly hilarious. For all his clear delight in monologue, the only lasting takeaway, revealed in the closing minutes, was his clear disdain for the entire region. Gharbzadegi comes to mind. What a shame. * the usage of "We" with a capital w.

I do not mean to defend any special, as you call it, " state", but of course many of terms you used like autocracy or corruption also completely fits your own state, I mean the aristocratic england. So if you really know yourself as an applied historian, please use your knowledge for changing your own corrupted state and take that advice not to meddle other countries anymore. You are living just in a very limited time of human history and you think you are the one who made this world and you have it in your hand and it is going to remain under your control forever. If you think so you have not learnt anything from your history studies at all, and of course that is because you do not believe in God. You, western (or westernised) politicians, just misuse anything, religeon, history, etc. to gain wealth and power without having any good aim to use them, but vice versa, your short just few hundereds of years history shows that your acts on the planet was much more destructive than being benificial. So please use your knowledge for correcting western countries and you will see the whole world will be in peace.

In this speech, Ali Ansari has uttered lots and lots of empty yaks void of any depth. He is one of many "Westoxicated" people who love to be seen as intellectuals but fail to impress anyone in Iran. He hardly knows much about "Persian" language and has never lived in Iran so he hardly knows much about the Iranian society either. His father is first cousin of "Farah Pahlavi" the wife of the overthrown "Shah" (in 1979 revolution). So he is admittedly a biased character and his account of contemporary history of Iran is questioned. I'm by no means pro the present system in Iran, but Ansari's lecture are far from the truth.

Unfortunately, this Man’s lecture is missing a massive point , that is , these people come from Iran study in UK and USA and are completely drowned in the western education and system . This is no solution to that part of the world. I really don’t know what he is trying to say. Save that he will be saying the same thing in 40 years with the Islamic Iran still going very strongly . If they survived the last 40 years with enemies all around they will certainly survive the future from specially people like him who is completely lost in the western world and thinks he can then export this idea to Iran . Just look at the friends of the west in that part of the world . Which one of these counties have achieved that ?

If you are detached territorially you will never be the expert and you have to accept that that means you cannot be ever the preceding factor, according to the ambition of your elaboration should be tuned appropriately. The next obstacle would be the territory crafted as a heaven would always be considered as a biased when discussing territory crafted as a hell.
